Join your guide in Marseille in the morning and set off for a true immersion into the culture of Provence.
Arriving at your first stop in Saint-Remy, you'll see the famous Roman monuments and discover the old town. You will also have the opportunity to visit the mental hospital where Vincent Van Gogh stayed for some time. On Wednesdays the local market is open.
Travelling on through the Crau Plain, your tour leads you to the Grand Rhône River bank where the ancient UNESCO World Heritage city of Arles is located. Following Van Gogh's footsteps, you will discover the Roman remains such as the amphitheatre and the antique theatre, Saint-Trophime church (12th century), the Forum Square where the statue of the Provencal poet Frédéric Mistral stands, and also the Hôtel-Dieu and Van Gogh’s Café. On Saturdays, enjoy the Provencal market in Arles.
During your spare time for lunch (on your own expense), admire the village of Les Baux de Provence, its medieval layout of narrow streets and the ruins of its castle.
