Khao Sok is one of those hidden gems you won’t believe isn’t on everyone’s radar.
Tucked away in Thailand's southern region, this picturesque village is where old rainforests meet dramatic limestone cliffs and sprawling jungles. This place is best known for Khao Sok National Park, a natural wonderland with crystal-clear lakes, winding rivers, and wildlife galore — yep, elephants included. Whether you’re gliding across the dreamy Cheow Lan Lake on a longtail boat or spotting gibbons on a sunrise hike, there’s something about this place that sticks with you.

Think floating bungalows, misty mornings, and nights lit up by a million stars. And the food? Thai curries and coconut-based soups hit different when you’re surrounded by nature this wild and striking.

Cruise across Cheow Lan Lake
Hands down the crown jewel of Khao Sok, this emerald-green lake is straight out of a postcard. Hop on a boat to take in the towering rock formations, hidden caves, and floating raft houses. It’s peaceful, surreal, and one of those experiences you’ll never forget.
Stay overnight in a floating bungalow
Looking for the ultimate Khao Sok experience? Sleep over the lake in a floating bungalow. You’ll wake up to morning mist drifting over still water and the sounds of the jungle all around. It’s a mix of rustic and magical that’s hard to beat, nature really puts on a show here.
Hike through ancient rainforest trails
The jungles here are older than the Amazon, and you’ll feel it as you hike through the dense, green wilderness. Guided treks are your best bet for spotting wildlife and learning about native plants. Don’t be surprised if you see monkeys, hornbills, or even the super-rare Rafflesia flower, AKA the biggest flower species in the world.
