Kristiansand is a favourite for local holidaymakers and for good reason. Sand-kissed coastlines, crystalline waters and laidback seatown are what best describe the fifth largest city in Norway.

Founded in 1641 by King Christian IV, Kristiansand's history is reflected in its well-preserved architecture, including the iconic Christiansholm Fortress and the vibrant Posebyen old town, made up of cobblestone streets pastel-coloured houses and an eye-catching marina.

Culture enthusiasts can explore the city's thriving arts scene at the Kilden Performing Arts Centre, while the Kristiansand Museum provides a fascinating insight into the region's past. The annual Kristiansand International Children's Film Festival and the lively Fish Market, Fiskebrygga, further showcase the city's unique character.

Kristiansand's stunning landscapes are a nature lover's playground. The nearby archipelago provides ample opportunities for island hopping and the Baneheia and Ravnedalen parks offers picturesque hiking trails, ideal for a fun day outdoors. Kristiansand Zoo and the Amusement Park are also great for a family-friendly destination, featuring an array of exotic animals and thrilling attractions.
