Just 30 minutes from Tromsø, Kvaløya, known as Whale Island, is home to some of Northern Norway’s most spectacular winter scenery. This guided snowshoeing adventure offers the chance to explore snow-covered landscapes, fjords and mountain viewpoints while enjoying the tranquillity of the Arctic outdoors.
After a brief introduction to snowshoeing techniques, equipment including snowshoes and hiking poles will be provided before setting off on a guided hike. The route and summit are selected each day according to weather and snow conditions, making the experience suitable for participants of different fitness and experience levels.
Along the way, take in breathtaking views, listen to the crunch of fresh snow beneath your feet and stop to capture memorable photographs. At the summit, enjoy warm drinks and pastries while admiring the surrounding Arctic landscapes. Some peaks also feature a summit book, allowing visitors to record their achievement.
For added convenience, photos taken by the guides during the excursion will be shared after the tour at no extra cost. Safety remains the priority throughout the experience, with routes adjusted when necessary according to weather conditions.
