Experience the night sky of Cyprus during a guided stargazing session in Paphos, away from the bright lights of towns and cities, where the conditions are ideal for observing stars and other celestial objects.
The evening begins with a short presentation using a projector and screen. You'll learn about the night sky, find out which celestial objects may be visible during the activity, and get tips on how to identify some of the most notable features overhead. You'll also enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or a soft drink.
Once darkness falls, your guide will use a powerful laser pointer to highlight constellations and bright stars while explaining the stories and traditional navigation methods associated with them.
The main part of the experience is telescope observation. When visible, you'll be able to view the Moon's surface in detail, including its craters and other features, and take photos through the telescope using your own smartphone. Depending on the season and weather conditions, you may also observe planets, nebulae, star clusters, double stars and the Andromeda Galaxy.
At the end of the session, you'll return to your pick-up point after spending an evening observing some of the most fascinating sights in the night sky.
