Heading along the coast to Diakopto, about an hour away from Loutraki, you'll soon find yourself boarding the Odontotos railway for a journey that's been named one of the most beautiful in the world. Trundle along mountainsides and through valleys – a route that has inspired artists – towards the village of Kalavryta.
This small village is your Launchpad to visit Spileo Limnon, the ‘Cave of Lakes', where 13 lagoons make it a true spectacle. Back at the village, you'll have free time to look around – the haunting Museum of the Kalavryta Holocaust is worth a visit. We'll then head to Mega Spileo Monastery, whose location, frescoes and mosaics are breathtaking.
