Immerse yourself in Colombia's Coffee Axis on this private half-day visit to a coffee farm in Santa Rosa de Cabal. After pick-up from your hotel in Pereira, you'll be introduced to the world of speciality coffee by a local expert.
You'll stroll through the coffee plantations and learn about each stage of the production process, from cultivation and selective hand-picking to depulping and processing. Along the way, you'll gain insight into the work and expertise behind one of Colombia's most recognised products.
During the visit, you'll take part in a hands-on roasting experience, using a wood-fired stove in the kitchen of a rustic farmhouse. You'll then taste freshly brewed speciality coffee and learn how different aromas and flavours develop during the roasting process.
The tour also includes stops at viewpoints built with traditional guadua bamboo, where you'll enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and coffee-growing landscape while sipping a cup of coffee. You'll also hear about drying techniques and the milling process before finishing at the main house with a refreshing glass of coffee lemonade.
At the end of the tour, you can return to your hotel by private transfer or continue with your plans in the region.
