Dive deep into Fuerteventura's wild south on this 4x4 safari timed with a partial solar eclipse on 12th August. You'll rumble through the island's volcanic heart towards Cofete, where mountain roads twist down to a sweep of untouched sand and Atlantic surf. From the Mirador de Cofete viewpoint, you can admire the rugged coastline stretching out in every direction.
Down in the tiny village of Cofete, you'll stop by the beach for a closer look at one of the island's most remote corners. The ramshackle village is mostly abandoned, but look up to the mountains and you'll spot Villa Winter, the mysterious mansion rumoured to have sheltered Nazis after World War II.
At Punta de Jandia lighthouse, you'll settle in to watch the eclipse merge with the sunset, casting softer light across the coastline. A glass of cava and a snack at nearby El Caletón restaurant are included before the drive back through Fuerteventura's moon-like landscapes beneath the night sky.
