The road then winds through Paradise Valley, Salma adds, “it's a beautiful spot, very aptly nicknamed by Jimmy Hendrix when he visited in the 60s.” From there, as you climb into the Ida-Outanane Mountains, you'll feel the air cool and see almond and argan trees lining the track.The village of Immouzer is the centre point of this trip. At 1,160 metres above sea level, it marks the beginning of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. You'll spend plenty of time here, checking out the cascading waterfalls, steep, rocky valleys and terraced hillsides – trust us, you won't be short of somewhere to point your camera. Settle in for a traditional lunch here, with homemade bread and olive oil, a Berber tagine and Moroccan salad. Private full-day tour to Tiout and Taroudant from Agadir

Just beyond Agadir, the road slows down and the landscape changes pace. “Tiout is where life still follows the rhythm of the palms,” says Hassan, one of our expert local guides. “People stop to talk, share tea and let the day unfold.” You'll feel it as soon as you arrive. After passing argan trees — sometimes with goats balanced up in their branches — you'll be welcomed into a local home for sweet mint tea, poured slowly just as Moroccan tradition require. From here, you'll go for a walk through Tiout's oasis, which brings you into village life and surrounds you with swaying palm trees.Lunch is served at a traditional Kasbah in Tiout, a simple setting where you'll tuck in to chicken tajine, vegetable and meat couscous and a seasonal fruit plate to finish. Next, your journey continues to the walled town of Taroudant. With your guide leading the way, you'll walk along the old ramparts, wander through the medina and check out the souk, a marketplace where you can pick up souvenirs like lanterns and spices.On the return to Agadir, there's one final stop at Domaine Villate Limoune. As you stroll through the orange groves with your local guide, you'll learn how the fruit is grown and harvested, before tasting fresh juice straight from the source. It's a calm, fitting end to a day shaped by people, places and the small details that stay with you long after the road leads back to the coast.

Private tour of Morocco’s UNESCO-listed Essaouira with lunch

Essaouira is like a laidback, coastal cousin to the bold and boisterous Marrakech, but with full-on ancient charm credentials. You'll have plenty of time to wander inside the whitewashed Medina walls of this UNESCO-listed old town, which is brimming with age-old souks and artistic flair. As Youssef, a local expert guide, explains, “The French influence means that unlike many labyrinth-like medinas, this one has a grid layout, making it easy to find your way around the artsy stalls, spice souks and cafes.”You'll start your day with an early pick-up from your hotel in Agadir and make a couple of photo and coffee stops along the way. Your final pitstop is at the Argan Cooperative, where you'll hear about how luxury beauty products are made from the locally produced argan oil. Plus, you'll taste a few delicacies like olive oil, honey and mint tea. Then, it's onto the main event, a guided tour of Essaouira.This city's been a hub for writers, musicians and artists since the 1960s, so it's no surprise this place is loaded with tucked-away galleries and workshops, which you'll be able to check out as you tour the port, market and jewellery district. Inside the medina, there's a table at a restaurant waiting for you with the freshest catch of the day to tuck into, before some free time to roam the markets. Youseff shares his top tip, “at the spice souk look for stalls selling ras el hanout (a Moroccan spice mix) and ask for the ‘local blend' rather than the tourist jars – they'll often mix it fresh for you, and you can learn about each ingredient." After some friendly haggling with the locals, you might even have time for a walk along the beach before heading back to for your bus.

Morocco's Atlantic Ocean coastline is the star of this tour. Journey through tiny fishing villages and hippie hangouts en route to Taghazout – a stretch of wave-washed sand that's been a surfer's paradise since the 60s. After some free time to explore, we'll head to Djemaa el-Fna at dusk – the best time to see it – before a tasty dinner and traditional entertainment in a riad.On day two we'll head to the coastal city of Essaouira. Its mellow atmosphere, narrow winding streets laden with kaleidoscopic carpets, peeling-paint houses with and heavy old wooden doors make it a wonderful place to wander around. Walk the ramparts of the harbour, known as the Skala, where electric-blue boats bob in the water, or discover the atmospheric medina. Then, it's on to the Mini Sahara, where you can wander the dunes and get a real taste of that desert feeling. If time is on your side, you'll also stroll through banana plantations tucked away in the valley before sitting down for a traditional Moroccan lunch and a glass of mint tea.After lunch, you'll travel through local villages toward Tiznit, long known as Morocco's historic centre of silver craftsmanship. Here, you'll check out the old ramparts, wander the old town and see how traditional Berber silver jewellery is made. By late afternoon, you'll make your way back to Agadir.
