‘You'll feel at one with nature as you glide down the Martha Brae River on a bamboo raft,' says Tania, one of our expert local guides. This truly Jamaican experience is one of the highlights of this tour, along with the chance to watch a wow-factor natural phenomenon at the Luminous Lagoon. The magic of nature makes the waters glow an electric blue here – so a swim in the neon deep, plus a Jamaican dinner and limbo show, make this tour a bucket-list must.
At Miss Martha's Herb Garden, you'll learn how to build a bamboo raft before hopping on to one, ready to float downstream. Your very own raftsman will pilot you downriver, so you can sit back and take in the tropical scenery. Along the way, your guide will tell tales of local folklore and introduce you to the importance of wild herbs in traditional Jamaican medicine and cuisine.
After rafting, you'll drive through the historic town of Falmouth – a childhood stomping ground of world's fastest man Usain Bolt – and see St Peter's Anglican Church, one of the oldest churches in Jamaica. Next up is the star of the show. Tania says, ‘This lagoon is one of only four of its kind anywhere in the world. It's like a scene from the movie, Avatar. That's why I find it such a special, magical place.' Arriving at the Luminous Lagoon just after sunset, you'll have time to take a swim in the glowing neon waters. Finally, there's a welcome drink and a Jamaican dinner made from locally sourced ingredients as you watch an entertaining limbo dancing show.

Spirit of the Maroons Cultural Tour in Jamaica
Your journey through Jamaica's north will unveil the culture and history of the island. You'll visit the Charles Town Maroon Museum to learn about the Maroons' struggle for freedom, enjoy a tasty lunch at Strawberry Fields Together, and stroll through Sun Valley Plantation to sample fresh fruits and vegetables. Jada, one of our expert local guides, says 'The Jamaican Maroons have a proud and fascinating heritage. They are descendants of West African slaves who escaped from plantations and created communities known as Maroon Towns. These communities preserved their African roots - the Maroon culture is known for vibrant music, dance, storytelling, herbal medicine, and cuisine.'Our first stop is the Charles Town Basic School, a small school at the heart of the Charles Town Maroon community. Then we'll visit the Charles Town Maroon Museum - home to a wealth of artifacts, including traditional clothing, weaponry, and musical instruments. You'll learn about the Maroons' long struggle for freedom and their important role in Jamaica's history. Next, we'll enjoy a tasty lunch at Strawberry Fields Together, overlooking the coast where you can savour Jamaica's famously flavoursome cuisine. Our final stop will be at Sun Valley Plantation, a farm that showcases the best of Jamaica's produce.
