Located at the base of Monte Rosa, the village of Macugnaga is your passport to an Alpine adventure. This half-day tour takes you on a scenic trip to the village from Lake Maggiore, where you can catch the Belvedere chairlift up the mountain for even more jaw-dropping views.

As the second tallest mountain in Europe, Monte Rosa will have you captivated from the moment you set eyes on it. After driving up Anzasca Valley, you'll arrive in the remote village of Macugnaga. At 1,300 metres above sea level, it is like something out of Heidi – typical Alpine buildings, a flower-filled piazza, a 12th-century stone church and panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

And for the clearest mountain air, let the Belvedere chairlift whisk you up Monte Rosa to the Belvedere Glacier where you'll see over the Alps and glaciers. Alternatively, you can take the cable car up Monte Moro to see Monte Rosa.
