Kos packs in an astonishing amount of heritage for a small island. This exclusive half-day excursion will take you on a journey through time and bring ancient Greece to life. You'll start out in Kos town, then visit the historic Asclepeion and cap off your day in the pretty hilltop hamlet of Zia.

Kos town is dripping in history, with monuments from classical antiquity all the way through the Byzantine and Ottoman periods to the rationalism of the 1930s. You'll navigate the streets that lead you through the photogenic town with your guide and soak up its melting pot of architecture and sights during an informative walk.

Then, we'll head to the ruins of Asclepeion, at the top of a pine-clad hill boasting views over Kos town and Turkey beyond. Your guide will fill you in on this 2,500-year-old ‘temple of healing' and then you'll have time to wander around on your own before driving to Zia. Here, you'll have free time to visit the petting farm, browse the shops or nurse a cool drink in a taverna.

Our guide Mariana was fantastic. Very informative and kept the whole excursion lively. Bus pick up was 10 minutes late but it didn't feel like an issue. Safe driving by all bus drivers. The trip to Ascelapion was very good especially with the tour guide info. Finally lunch at Zia was also budget friendly provided you choose the right restaurant (which again the tour guide helped with that ).

Overall this trip was good and well organised. I felt there could be more time in Kos town and less time in Zia village. You have to pay €15 euro to get into the ruins otherwise you sit outside at a cafe for 1 hour. The guide Marianne (think this is her name) was lovely and did inform us of information with each location. However, be prepared you spend a lot of time on your own.

We went during a heatwave so were already very hot when the bus picked us up, about 15 mins late. But from there on the day was great, the buses had aircon, the order of the tour was changed due to the heat and we visited Asclepeion first as it was going to be closed for the hottest time of the day. Marianne was fantastic and not only knowledgeable about the places but also shared a lot of otherwise interesting information about local culture. A very smoothly lead day!

Selection of Kos. Basically taken to 3 places. Kos town.. Good, interesting information from the guide. Left to spend money. Archaeological Site. Costs extra to go in. Mountain village. Basically a tourist village with tourist shops and restaurants. Wouldn't go on anymore tours. Not worth the money in my opinion
