We travel to Multnomah Falls along the river level route of the Lewis and Clark expedition and enjoy the unfolding panorama including Rooster Rock, Cape Horn, and Mist Falls, all sights first noted by the famous explorers over 200 years ago. Continuing to the Bonneville Fish Hatchery and Bonneville Dam and fish ladders, a national historic site in the heart of the Gorge, we pass Beacon Rock, a massive monolith. Then it is onto the Historic Columbia River Highway with panoramic views from hundreds of feet above the river at Crown Point and the historic Vista House. Descending through the famous highway loops we travel past sights including Sheppard's Dell and iconic basalt rock formations formed over thousands of years.
