Enjoy an e-bike ride through the spectacular Czech countryside on your way to the 650-year-old Karlstejn Castle of King Charles IV. The e-bikes make covering the 35 km trip to Karlstejn easy and enjoyable.

The Karlstejn Castle bike tour rolls you southwest of Prague along the Vltava and Berounka Rivers and through the Czech countryside to the gothic fortress built by King Karel IV to house the imperial jewels and his collection of holy relics. Karlstejn Castle, with its enchanting, monumental architecture is one of the most-visited castles in the country.

You start the guided bike trip to Karlstejn from the Praha Bike office in the center of Prague. The cycling time to the castle takes about 3.5-4 hours and has a flat terrain. During the trip you will pass through several villages, making observation and refreshments stops. Upon your arrival at Karlstejn Village, you will stop for lunch in a traditional Czech restaurant. Then, you leave the bikes behind to walk (15 min) up to the castle grounds. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the castle as well as the life of Karel IV and will show you castle exteriors, courtyards, and viewpoints.

Note: The tour does not take you into the castle.

You will return back to Prague by train. Trains depart from Karlstejn to Prague approx every 30 min with the journey lasting 40 min. The trip ends at the Praha Bike office around 5.30pm. For the whole trip, you will be accompanied by your friendly and very helpful tour guide.

This tour is not recommended for children aged 14 and under and for pregnant guests
The participant weight limitations are: over 45kg (100lbs) and under 120kg (260lbs)
This tour has almost no hills but does require a certain basic fitness level and bicycle riding skills
Guests must be able to ride a bike and be fit to cycle 35km (22miles) and keep the pace of about 14km(9miles) per hour
It is recommended to wear comfortable (or sport) clothing and shoes
Based on your individual requirements, bring anything extra you might need for a day out (cereal snack, sports drink)
This activity operates rain or shine. It is recommended for you to bring sunscreen during the summer months
Adult pricing applies to all travelers
The minimum number of participants is 3 (available for solo travelers and couples). The tour may be canceled or rescheduled if the minimum group size is not met
