This two-day, budget-friendly trip from Zanzibar takes you into the heart of Nyerere National Park – AKA the Selous Game Reserve – for an adventure that’s likely to bring you face to face with everything from lions and zebras to elephants and endangered African wild dogs. This area, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest protected game reserve on the entire African continent, so get ready for wildlife galore.

During your safari trip, you’ll stay at the Africa Safari Selous, a lodge that’s built right by a natural watering hole where lots of native animals come to drink and cool off. So, even when you’re not out on a game drive, there’s still a high likelihood you’ll see some of the locals roaming around in their natural habitats.

Your first day consists of a full-day game drive. Your second day starts with a guided bush walk to observe and learn the secrets of the African bush, followed by a scenic boat safari along the Rufiji River. You might be able to spot hippos, crocodiles and dozens of different bird species. In the afternoon, you'll board your flight back to Zanzibar, after enjoying lunch in the lodge.

Guiderna och bilarna under safarin var utmärkta! Det var även transfern mellan hotell och flygplats. Personalen på hotellet i Nyerere var otrevliga och ej särskilt hjälpsamma, förutom masaierna. Vi fick ingen information från agenturen eller TUI om vilken sorts boende vi hade, att det fanns pool där eller tid för tillbakaresa. Vi var nöjda med upplevelsen, men all typ av information inför och under upplevelsen var under all kritik…

Jätte dålig tur med båt dag två. Helt onödig tittade på samma ödlor i 2 timmar . Hade sett att man fick Safari två dagar då vi inte såg alla djur första dagen. Stod inte tydligt alls när vi bokad e att de skulle vara så. Även turen med massajerna va dålig. Väldigt tråkig för våra barn.

Safari goed 9/10 1e dag mooi veel gezien voor 1 dag Boswandeling 3/10 2e dag , beter paar uurtjes met jeep het krieken van de dag opsnuiven op Safari Met het bootje op het water was gewoontjes maar viel mee 6/10 2 e dag

Alles was vanaf ophalen hotel tot inchecken/begeleiding binnenlandse vlucht, ophalen van de strip en in de nieuwe safari-jeeps met een zeer kundige gids tot in de puntjes geregeld. Amazing! Wat hebben we veel verschillende dieren en planten/bomen gezien. 3 van de big 5, maar ook apen, giraffen, nijlpaarden, krokodillen, zebra’s en ga zo maar door. En alles met respect voor de dieren en de omgeving. Een minpuntje: er zijn ook bedrijven die het niet zo nauw nemen en ook achter de dieren aan gaan..
