Learn the ins-and-outs of equestrian horse care on a guided tour of a working stable.

To begin you will get to know the different horses that live at the stables, their names, breeds, ages and personalities. Learn about the facilities and materials used for the maintenance and training of the horses that perform the province's most important and renowned equestrian show.

Continue to the care area, where you will be shown how to brush, clean and check the health of a horse. If you wish, you can practice with one of the horses, following the instructions of the monitor. Gain an understanding on how to recognize the signs of well-being and discomfort of the animal, as well as how to prevent and treat possible problems such as parasites, wounds or illnesses. Then see how to prepare the horse for work by fitting the saddle, bit, reins and other tack. Hear about the functions and correct fit of each item, and how they affect the horse's performance and comfort.

Finally, you will attend a dressage demonstration, where you will observe how the rider communicates with the horse through body language, voice and aids. The experience ends with a question and answer session, where you will be able to solve your doubts and curiosities about the world of horses. You'll also have the opportunity to give the horses you've met a pet and a treat, and thank them for their cooperation.

Know in advance:

The instructor will give the explanation in Spanish, you can connect to the free Wifi network and use your personal smartphone to translate
Each visitor's phone should be equipped to translate in their own language, in real time, so they can understand everything during the visit
Car park is located inside the facility and free to use for customers

Remember to bring:

Mobile phone with the capacity to connect to the free Wifi network, this will allow you to listen to the translations in real time
Headset/headphones for each phone
In hot weather: bring cold or frozen bottles of water, as the whole activity takes place outdoors, and although there are areas protected from the sun, the temperatures can be sweltering if you are not used to it
