Discover the old village of Chinchero, an important part of the Inca Empire, which is located on a flat area more than 3,800 metres above sea level. You'll explore the archaeological site, which is famous for its well-preserved steps for growing crops and an amazing Inca fortress. Local stories say that this is where the rainbow came from.

In the middle of Chinchero is a beautiful old church, built in 1607 on top of Inca ruins. The main altar, decorated with gold leaf in a baroque style, is dedicated to the Virgin of the Nativity. The church walls have paintings by Diego Quispe Tito, a famous artist from the Cusco school of art.

Your visit ends with a walk through the small, stone-covered streets of Chinchero, where you can see what life is like in this town, before you go back to Cusco.

The tour only includes entry to the church. If you want to visit the ruins of Chinchero, you need to buy the Cusco Tourist Ticket (BTC). Passengers can buy this ticket on-site with the help of the tour guide. Please note that the archaeological site doesn't accept credit cards, so it's best to have cash ready at the start of the tour
