Experience an epic journey through the heart of the Central North Island in a luxury private vehicle to explore Waitomo's three main cave systems with this bundle package combining the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Ruakuri Cave and Aranui Cave for one great price. Travel deep into the underground of the Waikato region to explore the three popular cave systems. Waitomo must be experienced to be believed!

Waitomo Glowworm Caves are a beautiful grotto to explore, with thousands of miniscule glow-worms lighting the cave up and unintentionally imitating the glowing night sky. This is one of the most popular attractions in the region, and for good reason, the sights in the Glow Worm Cave such as the limestone formations will take your breath away.

The second attraction included in this package, Ruakuri Cave, offers views of the 'other' side of Waikato cave systems. Begin the tour by journeying down through the spectacular, man-made spiral entrance, marvel at the softly folding shawl-like limestone formations and crystal tapestries while listening to the distant thunder of subterranean waterfalls.

Finally, the Aranui Cave is another short tour, taking only 45 minutes to explore. Located just a 5-minute journey from the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, this is the smallest and most delicate cave of the three and features a range of sights, limestone formations including stalactites, stalagmites and flow stones.

Not suitable for:

The Waitomo Glowworm Cave is not suitable for people on wheelchair, as there is no wheelchair access

Not allowed:

It is not allowed to touch the formations in the cave as they get discolored easily
No backpacks or large bags allowed in cave due to delicate formations
No photography is permitted inside the Waitomo caves, so any sort of cameras cannot be taken on the tour

Know in advance:

A good fitness level is required. You must be able to climb and descend stairs and walk on unpaved or uneven terrain
The caves are accessible to those with reasonable mobility, as there are good handrails and paths
Boat tour capacity is up to 23 people
Caves average at a temperature of 16–17 degrees Celsius year round
Photography is permitted in Ruakuri Cave and Aranui Cave, so bring your camera to click the best shots
Children below 8 years old are required to travel in a child safety car seat. Children between 5-7 years old are also recommended to be in a booster seat for their safety
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the conditions, sun protection, jacket/warm layer, & any essential personal items
