Maria, one of our expert local guides, says, "Isla Mujeres, or the 'Island of Women,' was once a sacred place for the Maya, who linked it to the goddess Ix Chel. These days, it's a sanctuary for sea turtles and sits right next to the UNESCO-sited Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, making it a prime spot for snorkelling, diving, and eco-adventures."

Your day kicks off with a hotel pick-up and check-in at Marina Hacienda del Mar. After hopping aboard the exclusive TUI Collection catamaran, you'll cruise through the Mexican Caribbean waters, making your first stop to snorkel. The coral reefs here are something to shout about, plus, you'll likely spot tropical fish – and if you're lucky, maybe even a sea turtle. Kids aged over eight can join in on the snorkelling fun, too, if they're with an adult, while those a little younger can enjoy a swim as long as an adult stays with them.

Next, you'll head to Isla Mujeres' downtown before arriving at our exclusive beach club, where it's relaxation to a T. Think unlimited drinks from the open bar, a delicious grill buffet and sun beds under the palms. If you're in the mood for a little adventure, a guided golf cart tour can take you to the southern tip of the island – perfect for those all-important holiday pics, with rugged coastline views and a lighthouse. After a day of exploring and unwinding, you'll sail back to the marina, soaking in the last views of the coast.

You'll need to be able to swim around 400 metres to enjoy the guided snorkelling session
Just so you know, as the snorkelling is by a coral reef, you'll need to wear bio-degradable suncream to protect the environment, or you can buy some onboard
If you choose to take the golf cart trip, it's around 50 minutes, otherwise you can relax at the beach club
In the buffet grill at the beach club, you can typically find guacamole and crisps, French fries, ceviche, fish fingers, nuggets, chicken, hamburgers, tacos, salads, fresh fruits and vegetables

Well, we was under the impression that that we were going to be snorkelling for an hr, which at most was not even 20 mins, rushed back on boat. To get to 1st part of island for shopping. Once back on boat took no longer than 15 mins to next stop for lunch and to do the golf buggy tour. We got off boat and had lunch, halfway through eating to be told we were not in right Resturant. We had had NO Guidence. We didn’t get to do buggies as hadn’t pre booked. After 2 half hrs back on boat, Back!! .

When we arrived staff wS great on the boat but as soon as we got to the beach we was not shown where to go we sat down at to eat and we wS told we was at the wrong place half way through eating our meal so we got up to try and find our guide, to look for buggy tour as we was told we could have a 50 minute tour of the buggy we searched for our tour guide which was a no show, a compl6wSte of money would never book a trip with tui again absolutely shocking

no collection, waiting 2 hours for coach which did not turn up. had to get taxi. sold a TUI english trip but nothing to do with Tui and only 2 english families. deserted at the end and had to pay for a cab to get back to hotel. £130!!! missed our evening Christmas meal (overall 12.5 hours out of the hotel)

Brilliant experience from start to finish. Catamaran staff were excellent, very attentive and enthusiastic, we really enjoyed our time on the boat. The island was beautiful, golf buggy tour was fun, saw some great sights. Beach club was nice, good food and drinks although did feel a little busy. Snorkelling was not quite as expected, it was quite choppy, deep water and surrounded by lots of boats, not the quiet colourful coral reef I imagined but the staff were very good. Overall fantastic trip.

I put this complaint in with our reps on site. Our family received £125 compensation but I have not received mine.

The transfer never arrived and there was no communication from the Tui Reps of an issue. We waited 2 hours then had to book our own taxi to the port. When we arrived there was no Tui rep to greet us so it was very confusing on where to go next. We were put on a boat that wasnt a Tui ship and even though the crew on board were fantastic, we were sold a TUI only boat with a santa on board for xmas day and this didn’t happen leaving our children very upset. Theres more to say…
