This full-day tour is sure to leave you awestruck. The first leg of the journey sees you passing beautiful Goðafoss, a picturesque waterfall in the Skjálfandafljót River, before arriving at Lake Mývatn. This area is alive with nature: bird life, flora, geothermal activity, geology and saga. You will pass the pseudo-craters of Skútustaðagígar, the luscious Hverir Mud Pools, and the fascinating Dimmuborgir Lava Fields to name but a few.
Why not take a dip in the geothermal waters of the famous Mývatn Nature Baths, before heading back to Akureyri, where you embark on your whale watching adventure. Eyjafjord is home to many humpback, but also blue and minke whales. Keep your eyes peeled for them and other wildlife which is rife in this, Iceland's longest and deepest fjord.
