You’ll explore a pair of Egypt’s most distinctive temples on this full-day tour, which starts with a three-hour drive from Aswan to Abu Simbel. The twin temples here were carved out of the mountainside several thousand years ago, but just as impressively, they were painstakingly relocated in their entirety to higher ground during the 1960s to avoid being submerged by Lake Nasser. As soon as you arrive, you can’t miss the four giant statues of the ancient pharaoh, Ramses – each one’s 20 metres tall. You’ll have an expert guide with you for the tour, who’ll delve deeper into the history behind the temples and answer any questions you might have, before you make the journey back to Aswan.
