Visit several of the main sights and places of interest during this private sightseeing tour in the south of Mauritius.

Begin the day with a pick-up from your hotel and head to Trou Aux Cerfs Volcanic Crater in Curepipe. Next you will visit Voiliers de L'Ocean and meet with capable people working on the ship model of the 18th century.

After that you will visit Grand Bassin, which consists of a Spiritual Lake in the forest and a giant Shiva statue as well as the Black River Gorges viewpoint. Enjoy a rum tasting at Rhumerie de Chamarel before having a mouth-watering lunch at Le Chamarel restaurant.

The tour continues to the mountain village of Chamarel to gaze at the amazing sand dunes of different colors, at the Seven Coloured Earths. You will enjoy panoramic views of the rural landscape of the Black River district and the peaks of Le Morne Brabant mountain.

Our driver/ guide, Sanjeev Bundhoo, was excellent through the day with great knowledge of places and history of the Island. He looked after us brilliantly and the day was seamless. All the places we visited were interesting but the highlights were the Hindu Temple and the Rum Tour. The lunch provided was very good. The only disappointment was the lack of interest from the Tui rep at the hotel beforehand but he seemed to have little interest in anything to be fair.

Our south island tour started when we met our guide for the day, Tridev. He was such a knowledgeable guy and we had great fun with him, we even invited him to join us for lunch where we shared pictures of our family members. He showed us some amazing sights, the highlight being the Hindu temple, of which he was very proud. Finishing off with a rum tasting like no other!! Great day, and would recommend it to anyone, make sure you ask for Tridev. A true ambassador for the company.

We enjoyed the nature reserve, the waterfall and the seven coloured geopark. Meal was nice and rum tasting was good apart from it being very difficult to hear the guide as the French speaking guide in the next group was very loud and right next to us.

A good number of attractions, each on their own not always much to see/do, but as part of an itinerary, worked well. Good range and pace.
