The aesthetic mountain of Galica functions as a separator that divides the 2 lakes of Ohrid and Prespa. Because of its attractiveness and size, this piece of nature is recognised as one of the Natural Parks of North Macedonia. The peak of the mountain, which is called Magaro, has a stunning altitude of 2254m.

After arriving at the starting point, the hike starts through the forest flanks of the Galica mountains. You will experience the flora and fauna of this place accompanied by a mountain expert. During the walk, there are many opportunities to admire the amazing view over Lake Ohrid, which at that moment, lies 500 meters below. The hike continues along 3 traditional mountain villages, where you will learn the stories about the survival of the inhabitants during the harshness of the cold winter.

After a walk of approximately 2 hours and crossing 3km, you will be rewarded with a tasty lunch on the beach, which is only accessible by boat. So, bring some swimming clothes and towels!

Fantastic trip! The guide was amazing. I really enjoyed the walk, it was a little bit tougher than expected but I had decent shoes on, which you absolutely need, not beach shoes. After the walk you're taken to a boat and then off to a restaurant. The food was great and I loved the free time at the beach for a good 90 minutes. My only comment for consideration is that it was a very long time before the first toilet opportunity.

Would definitely recommend this trip. The guide was very good and very knowledgeable ~ sharing insights into Macedonian nature and culture. The walk through the mountains and villages was excellent and beach time at the end finished the day off

Great guide and very engaging. Bitterly disappointed that tour finished an hour earlier than planned (back at hotel for 3pm) and in rush to get on boat I lost my ear phones as thought I had more leisure time.

Very interesting walk between villages high up on the mountain. The guide knew the local area well, showed several local herbs Not a taxing walk and the more elderly participants had no trouble. The trip included the bay of bones museum stop on the way to lunch after the walk, which doesnt need seperate trip. The lunch was very good. Due to high winds & rain we finished early without beach, this beyond guides control so check forecast if beach time important to you as part of excursion.

The walk was about the correct distance for a hot morning. The views were lovely. We had lunch included but the menu could have more items for vegetarians. We had over an hour at the beach before the boat back maybe a little long.
