Located on a plateau not far from the sea, this archaeological park boasts an excellent state of preservation and some very important Doric temples of the Hellenic period. It corresponds to the ancient Akragas, the original monumental nucleus of the city of Agrigento. Source of inspiration for poets, philosophers and painters, it is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic parks in Sicily.
Inside the Valley there are twelve temples as well as some fortifications, the Lower and Upper Agora, an Olympeion and a Vouleuterion. The tour will start from the Temple of Hera, continuing on the sacred way to the remains of the surrounding wall.
