Leave Aleaxndria for a full- day tour to Rosetta.Sure you have heard about Rosetta stone. It is the most precious piece in the whole Egyptian monuments. Thanks to this piece, the Ancient Egyptian history is revealed by cracking the hieroglyphic code. Rosetta stone was found in Rosetta City, where River Nile merges with the Mediterranean Sea. The Rosetta Stone was discovered there in 1799. During the 19th century, Rashid or Rosetta was a popular British tourist destination, known for its charming Ottoman mansions, citrus groves and relative cleanliness.
The Rosetta Museum- that was built. preserve objects related to the history of Rosetta - comes on top of our visit’s plan. Afterwards, we drive to Citadel of Qaitbay. The fortress was built by Sultan El-Ashraf Seif El-Din Qaitbay (1468-1496 AD) as a part of the northern strongholds built by the Mamluks protecting the country against invaders. The citadel is composed of thousands of limestone blocks, some of them came from previous ancient Egyptian constructions which held Hieroglyphic inscriptions, including the famous Rosetta stone.

Now we drive towards the Nile to do a Nile tour by felucca or motor boat and if there is a chance we will watch the merge of Nile River where it delivers its last drops of water at the Mediterranean Sea after thousands of miles from the heart of Africa.
