Around 6:30 AM, you'll be picked up from Djerba or Zarzis for a one-day escape. After crossing the Roman road to the mainland, enjoy a countryside coffee while your guide presents the itinerary and desert route. Climb to Ain El Amba for sweeping views of the Jeffara plain, then dive into the wild beauty of the Tunisian Reg. As your vehicle kicks up dust on stony tracks, the landscape shifts—endless sand dunes stretch to the horizon, untouched and silent.
By 11 AM, you’ll reach Ksar Ghilane, a hidden oasis where desert meets palm grove. Take a dip in its warm natural spring, an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Sahara. Optional camel or quad rides can take you through the dunes to the Roman fort of Tisavar.
Then, savour a traditional lunch under a tent: hearty soup, couscous, and fresh fruit. On the way back, visit Ksar Hallouf, a historic granary perched above lush groves.
