Sintra is a beautiful city, with a unique cultural landscape and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. On this guided tour, you'll get to know its beauty with an experienced local resident.

Meet your guide at Portela de Sintra train station, and start the day with a visit to the Palácio Nacional de Sintra. This medieval palace was used by Portuguese royalty over the centuries and is known for its decorative tiles and its two huge chimneys. Take a short break to taste one of the traditional sweets, the famous and delicious “travesseiro”, and take the opportunity to discover the many secret alleys during a 30-minute free walk. Next, catch the tram at Praia das Maças, for about 40 minutes, to a traditional restaurant to enjoy a beautiful typical Portuguese meal.

After lunch, you'll return to Vila de Sintra to visit the illustrious Castelo dos Mouros. This 8th-century castle is located on top of a hill, with a magnificent panoramic view of the entire region of Sintra, Guincho, Cascais, and Lisbon. On the route back to the city, you cannot fail to appreciate also the majestic Palace of Pena, and the legendary Quinta da Regaleira, both surrounded by mystery and symbolism.

End your memorable day with a picnic in Santa Eufémia, an absolutely charming place that will once again provide you with an unspeakable view, between Cascais, Sintra, and Lisbon, and an atmosphere full of romanticism and magic.
