Drive to the foothills of the Jebel Akhdar mountain range. Your first stop will be at the Nizwa Souq, famed for its antiques and silver jewelry. You'll then stop briefly for photographs at the Round Tower Fort before continuing the journey.
The next visit takes you to Wadi Nakher, located in the depth of Oman's deepest canyon, before proceeding to Misfah, a scenic mountain village with original stone dwellings still in existence. While heading for Jebel Shams, you'll stop at the terrace farming village of Wadi Ghul and on arrival at the Jebel Akhdar range, Jebel Shams offers you a stunning view, not to be missed. The Grand Canyon of Jebel Shams is the highest canyon in Oman and the third highest in the world with a height of 3009 meters.
