At 9 am you'll start your journey to the historic town of Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital. Your first stop will be the charming ancestral village of Birkat Al Mawz at the bottom of the green mountain, Jebel Akhdar. You will then head to explore the beautiful Nizwa center and admire the exterior of its fort and the massive circular Cannon Tower, making it one of the most impressive forts in Oman.

You will walk through the traditional Nizwa souq and have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, you will proceed to the Jabreen Fort. The Jabrin Castle, built in the 17th century, is one of the finest of its kind. Its magnificent plasterwork, the carved doors and the painted wooden beams of the ceilings make this castle amazingly different.

After visiting the Jabrin Castle, on your way back to Nizwa downtown, you'll drive past Jebel Sham – one of the most famous mountains in Oman – and see one of the oldest small towns of Oman, Bahla, with its fort (outside visit). From there you will travel smoothly to Muscat after a long day!

Der Ausflug nach Nizwa war insgesamt sehr schön. Abholung vom Hotel pünktlich und gut organisiert. Unser Guide war sehr nett, sympathisch und gastfreundlich. Dennoch zwei große negative Punkte. Wir haben diesen Ausflug in deutscher Sprache gebucht aber der Guide sprach nur Englisch. Der Eintritt in die Festung von Nizwa war nicht inklusive. Den Eintritt mussten wir selber bezahlen.

Hallo, leider war der Audioguide nicht ideal. Manche Sprecher hat man schlecht verstanden und man kann ja nicht zurückspulen. Der Fahrer konnte minimal Englisch und beantwortete keine Fragen zur Reise, verwies auf den Guide. In Nizza wurden wir nur Souk abgesetzt und die Abholzeit vereinbart. Sonst nichts, kein Hinweis auf Festung, Außenfassade oder Kanonenturm. Darauf angesprochen verwies der Fahrer wieder auf den Guide. Der Rest verlief einigermaßen nach Beschreibung. Wasser gab es auch nicht.

Wir sind mit einem Kleinbus bis Nitzwa gefahren, konnten dort das Fort und den Nizwa Souk besichtigen. Unser Guide hat uns hilfreiche Tipps gegeben und ein leckeres Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant organisiert. Unser Guide war sehr aufmerksam und höflich. Nach Nitzwa sind wir noch nach Bal und zum Jabreeb Castle gefahren, und anschließend zurück zu unserem Hotel. Der Audio-Guide war sehr gut und informativ. Wir haben vieles gelernt. Es war ein wunderbarer Tag.
