Further on, you'll find the Vasari Corridor, a spectacular elevated passageway that connects the two banks of the river Arno passing over Ponte Vecchio. It is a secret corridor used by the Grand Dukes of Tuscany to move between Palazzo Pitti, the third residence of the family, and government offices located inside Palazzo Vecchio, without being seen by citizens.
