Discover Gijon, a city that combines history, culture, and beautiful coastal landscapes on this half-day excursion.
After picking you up at the meeting point in Oviedo, you will head to Gijón where you will do a guided walking tour to explore its most authentic corners, starting at Plaza del Parchís and then making our way to San Lorenzo Beach. You will enjoy a pleasant walk along the famous Gijon Seawall, a wide avenue that connects the two ends of the city and holds many interesting facts.
Next, you will dive into the charming Cimadevilla neighbourhood, where the maritime atmosphere blends with the oldest streets of the city, dating back to Roman times. You’ll take a short break for a drink before heading to the harbour, where you’ll stop to admire the nautical surroundings and the 18th-century Revillagigedo Palace, which hides a secret: although its two towers look identical, one is 300 years older than the other. Right in front, you’ll be surprised by the statue of a knight with a cross, Don Pelayo, the first Asturian king and a beloved hero of Gijon.
You will end the tour, full of history and charm, in the elegant Plaza Mayor, where you’ll have free time to enjoy Gijon at your leisure. On the way back, you’ll take a scenic tour with a brief stop to visit from outside the Laboral City of Culture, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
