This is when the banker Lluís Martí Codolar donated his collection of exotic and native animals to the Barcelona City Council. Among the animals are the descendants of Snowflake - the only albino gorilla in the world. Snowflake was the star of the Catalan city Zoo from 1966 until his death in 2003 from skin cancer.
