Enjoy a culinary journey with a local family and step into a different world. Each encounter is personal, involving only your party and the host family.

Upon meeting the local family and enjoying your first drink, you'll have the opportunity to assist in meal preparation. Alternatively, you can simply observe, jot down notes, or take photographs - just relish the experience.

All host families have at least a basic knowledge of English, offering you the chance to engage in conversation and learn about everyday life in their country. Feel free to discuss anything you're curious about with your hosts, including sharing insights about yourself and your homeland. Most host families are very interested in other cultures.

This experience did not take place. All the information that was on the TUI Booking was non existent in Sri Lanka. The advert says pick up point is in Galle, this is not correct, apparently you have to make your own way there, and it’s located allegedly another 15 kms in the bush. Our rep told us this was not safe. Luckily for us the TUI Rep looked into our booking and advised us not to go, he tried calling the vendor, turned out to be a Motor Company and were requesting another $50!

A minimum of 2 adults is required for this activity
On the terrace, you’ll find many shoes. It is customary to take off your shoes before entering a house
Clothes should respect the local culture and not show too much skin
The local family will invite you to help with the preparations of your meal
It is recommended to discuss when you or the local family want to take pictures (and/or post them on social media). Most of the time, everyone is fine with it
