Built at the foot of the Simatai Great Wall, Gubei Water Town used to be an important military site and attracted numerous literati and hosted more than 3 emperors in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Now it is becoming a popular resort for photographers and foodies. Take the cable car up to the Simatai Great Wall to make the journey easy.
