Enjoy an excursion by bus with a multilingual tour leader to Syracuse, one of the most ancient Greek colonies in Sicily, a heritage of humanity and a UNESCO site.

Upon arrival in Syracuse, meet with the multilingual local guide and visit the V century BC archaeological area where you'll see the Greek Theatre (there will be a theatre set on-site during the summer), the Roman Amphitheatre, the Altar of Hieron II, and the Latomies of Paradise with the Ear of Dionysius. After that, visit the historical centre of the island of Ortigia, with the Temple of Apollo, the Cathedral, the important Baroque church built on an ancient temple, and the Fountain of Arethusa with the famous papyrus plant. Lastly, enjoy free time for an individual walking tour to the Grand Harbour with the 'Foro Italico' on Porto Grande.

It was a lovely and interesting tour with a really nice guide. The only thing which could have improved it for us was a little bit more time in Syracuse. We like to explore and take lots of photos and by the time we did that the free time was up. Would have been great to have had another hour to sit with a coffee and enjoy the scenery.

It would be nice to have an extra 30 - 60 mins in Ortygia at the end to enable us to have a leisurely meal and take photos rather than opting for only a meal or only photos

From joining the coach we felt as if we were an inconvenience and it all was done at a rushed paced with no thought for the elderly and immobile . The guide wasn’t approachable and had no people skills and displayed her frustration in front of us several times we just couldn’t wait to get back to Taormina and the trip to be over

Verder erge lange tijd door afzetten van alle mensen op verschillende plekken. Uiteindelijk te weinig tijd om in de stad zelf door te brengen.

It was a lovely and interesting tour with a really nice guide. The only thing which could have improved it for us was a little bit more time in Syracuse. We like to explore and take lots of photos and by the time we did that the free time was up. Would have been great to have had another hour to sit with a coffee and enjoy the scenery.
