Frantoio Tini is set in the stunning Abruzzo hills, nestled among the "Calanchi" of Castilenti. This family-run oil mill has over 100 years of history, offering you an experiential journey into the world of olive oil production.
The tour is divided into two parts: the first takes place in the oil mill, and the second in the tasting room. You'll explore all the production machinery and learn about their operation from a qualitative perspective. The guide will explain correct oil conservation practices and discuss the olive tree varieties that characterise Abruzzo.
You'll discover how the entire production chain is traced from plant to bottle, with particular attention to transparency and terroir. The experience then moves to the tasting room, where you'll sample different types of extra virgin olive oil. During the tasting, you'll learn how to technically taste olive oil and recognise the characteristics of quality extra virgin olive oil.
The session is interactive, with opportunities to ask questions and explore curiosities that debunk traditional myths about olive oil. The experience is led by oil masters, professional technical tasters and oil sommeliers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge.
