Enjoy pick-up from your hotel at about 9.30 am with transportation to Pompeii, where you'll meet your guide. There will be a short lunch break with pizza and a drink before heading to Torre del Greco, from where you will access Vesuvius National Park, 1000 meters above sea level. You will take a break in the parking lot before heading to the summit of the only active volcano in continental Europe. Visit this evocative crater, located 1200 meters above sea level, from where you'll be able to see the Gulf of Naples all the way from Capo Miseno to the tip of Campanella.

The driver Giovanni was excellent and we had a good chat on route and back. Views from the top are magnificent. My only criticism is that we needed a little more time to explore whilst at the top. We had a little more time than we thought because it was difficult to gauge how long it would take us to walk down to the transport in ‘good time’. You need 2 hours to get up, explore, take photos, shop and get down comfortably (maybe more if you were less fit)

Brilliant experience. Husband and I were asked if we could alter the time of our pick up from 9am to 2pm. We happily accepted. We were the only people on this experience at this time which was not an issue. We were collected promptly and the driver provides some information during the journey.
