Visit ARTIS Zoo and celebrate the reopening of the new ARTIS Aquarium this summer, the world's third-oldest aquarium. Dive into the fascinating underwater world and discover ecosystems up close. Admire colorful coral reefs, meet special fish and take a look under the water surface of the Amsterdam canal. Learn more about marine life and fresh water and be surprised by the stories behind the aquariums.

Imagine yourself in Madagascar at the renovated Kerbertterras (former lion enclosure) and admire how the ring-tailed lemurs, red ruffed lemurs, and Madagascar radiated tortoises live together here. Stroll through the historic city park, admire the monumental buildings and explore the botanical garden, and take a relaxing break at one of the vegetarian restaurants.

Pets are not allowed (assistance dogs are permitted; they need to be registered at the ticket office upon presentation of a dog identification card showing that the dog has been trained)

This is one of the greatest zoos I have ever seen. I honestly couldn’t believe I spent the whole day here. The range of animals living here is great compared to many other zoos. I loved seeing the elephants. The many different children areas were a bonus feature. You must try the pizza, so tasty.

I wish I could have had ice for my drink as it was a hot day. I wanted to pay with cash and could not at the french fry stand nor at the waffle stand.
