The Washington Monument requires all guests to go through physical security screening to access the monument. The security line normally takes around 15-30 minutes but can be even longer on major holidays

Minors (17 or under) must be accompanied by an adult (18+)
The Washington Monument is a self-guided experience. The small-group guided tour is available only if the correct option is selected in the calendar, and the entrance ticket should take place after the walking tour
