Experiência de cruzeiro de catamarã na Isla Mujeres

Pickup was late and the AC was blasting like a fridge, we were freezing and felt unwell. The catamaran was old and rundown. The “snorkelling” was a 5-minute dip, life jackets mandatory, which isn’t snorkelling at all. When I asked to go without one, the staff member snapped at me rudely. You’re basically paying for a ferry, nothing more. To top it off, he shoved a tip jar in my face in front of everyone and demanded a tip. Awful experience, avoid at all costs.

No English speaking tour guide. Lunch was inedible due to lack of hygiene and flies all over the food and rusty trays. The tour was not as described. We weren’t allowed to wear suncream even when we bought reef friendly suncream specifically! This meant we could not snorkel. Not a relaxing experience as you described- drinks being poured into people’s mouths and music being blasted the whole trip. No communication at all! Terrible experience.

Staff on the catamaran on the way there and back were very attentive. Lots of drinks flowing and very friendly. We got a burrito lunch and 3 hours on the island. The transport on the way back was dodgy. We had a trainee driver who almost collided with a car on the way back. Feared for life.

Transfer home was very long, an hour on the way there was fine but 1hr 40 mins on the way home. First stop was 40 mins from our hotel. I think the logistics of the drops could have been better or more transfers so drops were split up. Other than that it was an excellent trip.

Slightly apprehensive after seeing some poor reviews however we couldn’t disagree more. Staff were fantastic, really clean, the lunch was a wrap, not huge but still lovely. The atmosphere on the way home was fantastic with everyone dancing and having fun. Couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone. The island is also absolutely beautiful, we will definitely be returning
