This popular full-day 4x4 tour will take you into the northern part of Cyprus. You'll visit intriguing spots, including the ancient city of Salamis and the old town of Famagusta, as well as passing by the ‘ghost town' of Varosha.

Your journey into the past starts with a photo stop at Deryneia before you'll pass through the UN buffer zone to the northern part of the island. Pass by Varosha, once a popular beach resort and now a 1970's time capsule. Then you'll have free time to explore Famagusta and see the main sights, including the Venetian castle and the Gothic cathedral turned mosque.

Your journey continues to the ancient site of Salamis. You'll have time to explore its ancient roads and ruined temples as well as the partially restored amphitheatre. There's also time to find a spot to grab some lunch before visiting the tomb of St. Barnabas, the patron saint of Cyprus.

I only give a 9/10 for the guide/staff, because his English was hard to understand. Apart from this he was very good and friendly. The overall trip was very interesting, and I would definitely recommend everyone who visits Cyprus to do this tour. Please update the description, that a passport is needed for this trip.

Unser Guide Fanos hat uns auf beiden Touren mit wertvollen Informetionen versorgt, er ist lustig, hilfsbereit und sehr kompetent und man spürt, daß er seinen Job mit Herzblut ausübt! Die Stopps waren klasse. Lediglich das Essen während der Bergdörfertour war etwas enttäuschend, weil es authentischer sein sollte. Mezze in einem stylischen Lokal, serviert von asiatische. Personal, das schon abgeräumt hat während noch gegessen wurde, mit amerikanischer Popmusikbeschallung ist nicht zypriotisch!

Bei 65€ für die Tour sollte der Eintrittspreis für diebl Archäologische Stätte schon bei sein. Vorallem kostet der Eintritt derzeit 50 türkische Lira. Und du kannst diese entweder in Bar mit türkische Lira zahlen oder mit Karte. Nur zahlt man da a) noch Gebühren und b) funktionieren nicht alle Karten. Meine und auch von einem anderen der Gruppe ging nämlich die Karte nicht. Zum Glück hat uns jemand ausgeholfen und mit seiner Karte bezahlt. Aber das ist ja nicht selbstverständlich.

Wir wurden von einen sehr freundlichen zyprioten vorm hotel abgeholt und traffen uns am sammelplatz wo die anderen warteten sehr interessanter ausflug wie es früher war und wie es jetzt ist. Sie hatten sehr viel wissen was sie gerne an uns weitergegeben haben, und wen wir fragen hat warum oder wie haben sie sie alle beantwortet Dadurch das wie anfang november dort waren war es eine kleine gruppe das war sehr toll
