The tour starts with a visit to Jabal Al Rahmah or the Mount of Mercy. Mount Arafat is a hill in the valley of Arafat outside Makkah where Prophet (SAW) gave his last sermon after completing Hajj. It is mandatory for pilgrims to leave Mina and reach Mount Arafat on 9th Dhu’al Hijjah and spend the day praying, doing Dhik’r and asking for forgiveness from Allah (SWT).
Next, you pass by Mina. Mina has the capacity to hold up to 3 million people and is also the largest tented city in the world. Pilgrims coming to perform Hajj have to camp at Mina for multiple nights. During the Hajj season, the city is crowded with pilgrims and remains deserted the rest of the year. The valley of Mina is also the place where Prophet Ibrahim was ordered to sacrifice his son Ismael in a dream by Allah.
You head towards Jabal Al Nour. Also known as, Mount Hira (Jabal Hira), which lies about two miles from the Ka’bah. Near the top is a small cave, a little less than 4 meters in length and a little more than one and a half meters in width. It was here that the Prophet Muhammad received the first revelations of the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadhan in 610 CE. The mountain is also known as the Mountain of Light.
