Experience both the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and the Wieliczka Salt Mine in a single day. You’ll spend around 3 hours at each site, with a 30–60-minute break between them.

The transfer from Krakow to Auschwitz takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a pause. As the museum welcomes many visitors daily, there may be some waiting time before entry, but the friendly team on-site will be with you throughout, ensuring you are comfortable and well looked after.

At Auschwitz and Birkenau, your guide will lead you through the memorial and museum, where letters, photographs, and artifacts tell the stories of the 1.3 million victims who lived and perished here. Explore the different sections of the camp, including living quarters, gassing sites, and areas where prisoners endured inhumane experiments.

At Wieliczka, wander through 3 km of underground tunnels, admire 2 lakes, and marvel at the stunning Chapel of St. Kinga, the world’s second-largest underground chapel, entirely carved from salt, including its altarpieces and chandeliers. Discover unique chambers, learn about 700 years of mining history, descend approximately 700 steps, and return to the surface via lift.

We enjoyed both trips very much. In hindsight we should have done them on separate days as we spent a very long time on our feet. Also the pick up time came as a bit of a shock. I received a text the day before to say the pick up time would be 5:20am! We arrived at Osweiecim about 7am but did not commence the tour until 7:30. It was a lot of unnecessary standing about. We arrived at back at our ap’t just after 4pm so it was a very long day. The tours were excellent but hard doing both in 1 day.

I had booked this trip a while before. I received a message the day before to say the salt mine part had been cancelled and I would receive a partial refund. Whilst this was very disappointing, I still was able to book the excursion for a different day. I am still waiting for confirmation of refund and the messages I’ve been sending to the company have been read and not replied too. Currently I am £112 out of pocket. Also the time slot I had booked was changed by almost 2 hours.

The duration of the break between the two sites may vary due to unexpected queues, traffic, etc. It is advised that you carry your own food and water. You may also order a lunch box from the tour operator at an additional cost

Please dress for the weather and respectfully, as this is a memorial site; waiting before entry can be long, so warm clothing, rain protection or sun cover may be needed
If no pickup address is received within 24 hours before the tour, pickup at the hotel is not guaranteed
The pick up applies to accommodation in an area up to two kilometres from the city center of Krakow. If your hotel/accommodation is more than two kilometres away from the city center of Krakow, the tour operator will set up a different, convenient meeting point
Students can purchase reduced tickets only with a valid ID card, without it, an extra fee (40 zł) for an adult ticket will apply
