Fairytale Tafraout is a traditional village where pink, pastel-coloured houses sit surrounded by red-granite mountains. Get an insight into local life with a tour that takes you to knockout beauty spots in the Ameln Valley, an argan oil farm, and a spice-scented souk to shop for souvenirs. Plus, you'll get to taste typical Berber cuisine, too.

First up are the open plains of the Ameln Valley where there are incredible views of the eye-commanding Kasbah Tizourgane, rising above the skyline, and a whole world of weird and wonderful rock formations. Sculpted by centuries of desert winds, they come in all shapes and sizes, including the amusingly-named Napoleon's Hat.

It's then on to Tarafout, a mountainside village where there's free time to shop in the souk, or explore her medina. There's an argan oil farm visit, too. And following your fill of Moroccan dishes for lunch, you'll visit the walled ramparts of Tiznit Fortress – Morocco's ancient silver capital.

It is difficult to review this as it depends ona person's stanima. The tour did do what it advertised ,(except we didn't see the Argon factory- although by then we all probably had enough).The journey up the Altas Mountain was very twisty & most of the passengers (6 of us) felt queasy with one poor lady being sick. Saying that, we liked seeing all the different landscapes. Lunch was nice. Tiznit was disappointing as all we saw was the silver shop. The driver & guide was good.
