Procida, a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, is located at the entrance to the Gulf of Naples, between Ischia and Cape Miseno. It is the smallest of the three sister islands, Ischia, Capri, and Procida, but has nearly 11,000 inhabitants. Its volcanic origins are clearly visible in the landscape: the coastline is made of tuff rock, steep and dramatic, overlooking crystal-clear waters, with coves and traces of ancient craters. Inland, the terrain is hilly, fertile, and covered in typical Mediterranean vegetation, offering visitors a landscape of rare beauty. Procida is especially known for its rugged and mountainous terrain, which adds to the charm of its scenery such as cliffs, panoramic terraces overlooking emerald waters, and steep, jagged shores carved with sea caves.
The tour departs from the main ports of the island of Ischia (Forio, Lacco Ameno, Casamicciola, and Ischia Porto) and includes a full circumnavigation of the beautiful, volcanic, and history-rich island of Procida. From the sea, you’ll admire its stunning, jagged, and at times towering coastline dotted with enchanting beaches, the fortified Terra Murata “citadel” perched above the sea, the colorful fishing village of Corricella, the charming marina of Chiaiolella, and the nature reserve of Vivara Island, connected to Procida by a bridge. During the tour, there is a stop at the port of Marina Grande with a 2-hour visit on land to explore the island up close.
