Take off from Hurghada and touch down in Cairo, stepping straight into a world shaped by pharaohs and ancient wonders. After a short flight across Egypt, you’ll arrive in the capital and make your way to the Giza Plateau, home to the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx. Built over 4,500 years ago, these monuments formed the royal burial complex for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. Local guide and Egyptologist Esi Ayman explains, “you’ll learn so much about the Egyptians on this tour of the Pyramids – from their beliefs about the afterlife to their astrological knowledge. The 'how' is still a mystery that we can only admire and enjoy.”

You’ll have time to roam the site, stand before the Great Sphinx and soak up the atmosphere of this ancient world. After that, you’ll stop for lunch at a local spot before heading to the Grand Egyptian Museum – AKA GEM. Opened in 2025 and now the largest archaeological museum on the planet, it’s a true showstopper. You’ll explore its immersive exhibits, climb the Grand Staircase lined with huge artefacts and lose yourself in stories that stretch across millennia. Plus, it overlooks the Giza Plateau, so the views are every bit as breathtaking as the exhibits.

One of the museum’s highlights is the Tutankhamun Gallery, where over 5,000 treasures from the young pharaoh’s tomb are displayed together for the first time since their discovery. The golden masks, ancient jewels and symbolic treasures are sure to leave you speechless. After a full day packed with discovery and ancient history, you’ll start your journey back to Hurghada.

Das neue Museum ist gigantisch und hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen, zumal wenn man das alte Museum und eine Vielzahl von Museen weltweit besucht hat. Sehr störend fand ich die in diesem Rahmen angebotene Verkaufsschau. Deshalb flogen wir unter dem genannten Thema nicht nach Kairo, das fand ich ärgerlich, hätte diese vertane Zeit lieber noch im Museum verbracht. Das war für mich eine Zumutung.

A very long day,I think the Nile trip for half an hour wasn’t necessary,there are prettier places along the Nile rather than Cairo.And the papyrus stop wasn’t worth it after a long day walking around the pyramids and Grand museum.The Grand museum is an absolute treasure but you would need a week around there to be able to take everything in.But overall a wonderful experience,if you are doing this trip I would definitely recommend flying as it take a the stress out of a 6 hour road trip.

Absolut und unbedingt empfehlenswert! Alles hat wie am Schnürchen geklappt und am Ende ging sich tatsächlich noch - gegen eine kleine Gebühr- eine abendliche Fahrt auf dem Nil aus. Die äußerst sympathische Reiseleiterin konnte nicht nur mit geschichtlichem Wissen punkten, sie vermittelte auch fundierte Einblicke ins ägyptische Leben. Schade war, dass das gleiche Paket auch in unserem Hotel buchbar war und zwar um ganze 50,-€ pro Person günstiger. Abholung um3.15 Uhr heftig, aber notwendig.

Our guide Habib was brilliant! Extremely knowledgeable and he kept us entertained throughout the whole trip. It was a long day (17 hrs) but we didn’t feel rushed or tired at all. The most wonderful trip!!

Khafre and Menkaure cost about EGP 280 for adults and EGP 140 for kids under 12Payment is available only by credit card. There’s a 50% reduction for children under 12
