Monkeys aren't the only thing you'll see swinging through the trees on this day out. At Punta Cana's premier primate park, you can fly through the forest canopy too. Head to Monkeyland's spectacular mountain surrounds to spot super-cute squirrel monkeys and then hit the heights for a thrilling 12-wire zipline course.

Kick off with a visit to Casa del Coco to learn all about coconut oil and other organic Dominican products. You'll get to taste a few of them along with the national tipple, mamajuana, too. Suitably refreshed, we'll then head through acres of lush green rainforest and along mountain slopes towards Monkeyland.

Home to hundreds of chattering squirrel monkeys, you'll see these friendly creatures at play in their natural surroundings as you tour the botanical gardens. And if you really want to make it a wild day out, you can upgrade your ticket to include the park's action-packed zipline course – one of the longest in the Caribbean – or a buggy ride and river swim.

Ich wünschte wir hätten uns besser informiert, leider nichts weiter als Tierquälerei. Die Affen werden im Gehege gehalten ähnlich wie im Zoo. Alles eher Massenabfertigung, schnell Fotos schießen und weiter geht‘s. Die Zipline war cool, hätte man aber zum Schluss machen sollen da man vollgeschwitzt zu den Affen ist.

Der Besuch von Monkeyland war super, jedoch danach sich die „authentische“ Zubereitung von Kaffee und Kokosöl anschauen zu müssen war absolut langweilig und alles andere als authentisch. Es entwickelte sich sehr schnell zu einer Verkaufsfahrt.

Danach findet noch ein Verkauf von einheimischen Produkten statt, jedoch absolut kein Kaufzwang. Preis Leistungsverhältnis nicht so gut, bei 4köpfiger Familie kommt da was zusammen, für ca 2h Erlebnis.

Der Ausfllug war toll. Die Äffchen sehr süß. Sie wirkten gepflegt und man hatte nicht das Gefühl dass sie eingesperrt sind. Die Begleiter waren sehr nett. Alles war sehr gut organisiert. Einzig nicht ganz so gut ist der Preis. Er wirkt auch wenn der Ausflug super war überhöht im Verhältnis zu anderen Ländern. Dies scheint aber generell in Dom Rep so zu sein. Bei einer 4köpfigen Familie kommt das einiges zusammen. Das ist aber das Einzige ansonsten alles super.

Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Guide war sehr nett und hat sich sehr viel Mühe mit uns gegeben, auch was das deutsch sprechen anbelangt. Im Monkeyland hat auch alle geklappt, selbst die Unterweisung im Umgang mit den Äffchen, die ebenfalls in deutsch war. Alles in allem war es ein super Ausflug, dem man nur weiter empfehlen kann.
