This morning tour takes sightseeing to the next level – you'll be ripping over country roads, diving into river valleys and scooting through typical ‘bateyes' by 4x4 buggy and/or powerful quads. It's got action, adventure and just the right dose of adrenaline to experience the thrill of the Dominican Republic's countryside.

Safety briefing done and helmet on, you'll be ready for the off – and the island's backroads and country trails will be your playground for the morning. Zoom along kicking up clouds of dust behind you, and stop every now and then for a view and some culture.

You'll ride through settlements around sugar mills, known as ‘bateyes', and even cool off in the sleepy waters of the River Chavon. Drinks, fresh fruit and a raw sugarcane tasting are on the menu, too, when you're in need of refreshment.

You can choose your ride for the day from these three exciting options:

Quad & Buggy Ride – giving you a 2-for-1 on extreme ways to explore Bayahibe

Quad Only – for a thrilling quad bike ride

Buggy Only – to bump along in one of these nippy vehicles

Thoroughly enjoyed this excursion, they honestly couldn't have done anything to make it better! Guides were friendly and helpful, they took safety very serious and went round everyone to make sure helmets were tight enough and buckles were secure. Would highly recommend this experience for any thrill seekers

Overall a good experience but very money orientated e.g. asked to purchase sunglasses and bandanas before being allocated buggies and quad bikes, pressurised to buy photos and leave tips. Staff not as friendly as could have been.

No eye protection given, two stops, staff pushy and demanding tip. Staff showed no passion or offered information about route.

If you’re staying at Hilton La romana this is a great activity as it’s only a 10 minute transfer. More information would have been nice when we got there and at the end - there was a bit of standing about.
