With your admission ticket, you're all set to explore the Grottes de Vallorbe in the Vaud Jura. A clearly marked circuit guides you through various sections of these fascinating caves for approximately an hour, taking you alongside the subterranean Orbe River.
You'll encounter a variety of stalactite and stalagmite formations, as well as expansive rock chambers. In the 'Treasure of the Fairies' section, you'll find a display of minerals from across the globe. To round off your visit, there's a light-and-sound spectacle waiting for you in the largest hall of the cave.
Don’t miss out on admiring the Orbe above ground near the Vallorbe Caves. The river springs forth directly near Vallorbe at the so-called Source de l'Orbe, where it emerges from a rocky facade. As it meanders through the broad valley in the Vallorbe area, it becomes a visible feature of the village. There are walking trails both above and below the caves that allow you to trace the river's journey and soak up the beautiful scenery along the Orbe.
