Visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum is a sobering experience that will help you understand the enormity of human tragedy that happened during the Holocaust. On this guided tour, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Krakow and taken by minivan to Poland’s most significant UNESCO World Heritage Site for an insightful day of education, remembrance and reflection.

You’ll visit both parts of the former concentration camp, starting with Auschwitz I. It still has the original barracks, which now exhibit the personal belongings that tell the haunting stories of those who were held here during World War II. These powerful displays are designed to honour their memory and provide a deeper understanding of the immense suffering they endured.

Your guide will walk you through the history of the site, and the harsh conditions those imprisoned here faced. At Birkenau, you’ll see the grounds, including the barracks, gas chambers and watchtower, plus the railway tracks where so many arrived. The guided tour takes around three and a half hours, plus you’ll have some extra time at the end to take it all in and quietly reflect before heading back to Krakow.

Pick up time and location was changed the night before from 0810 to 0410! We walked the streets at 330am to get to our pick up. We picked up other people and was told by our driver that we would be driven to Auschwitz and would have to wait until the gates opened at 620. We arrived at 0515am! We finally started our tour at 0830! The ticket you receive from Tui is not actually a ticket to Auschwitz, the driver purchases this on the day with no guarantee and a considerably lower price than u pay!

The tour was very well done and our guide was excellent. We got a full look at both camps and our guide was very passionate in teaching us about the history and life of the sites. The lunches on offer were quite good and well needed if you hadn't packed your own lunch. We had a small struggle at the start of day during the pick up since there were multiple busses and no descriptor to identify our bus.

Such a valuable experience. Well worth the money as it all goes back into maintaining this historic camp for everyone to visit a huge part of history. The tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. The pick up was just around the corner from the hotel and the driver was friendly and helpful.

The driver didn’t pick us up from the hotel which meant there was a 20 minute walk to try and find the place. They also decided that they weren’t gonna do the 10:10 and did gone 12 o’clock pick up which meant that our plans had to change! They couldn’t do the time we had agreed as per the booking. And then they cut the tour short and they didn’t do the second visit for long because they said they had another booking to go too. Totally unacceptable to cut our toe short because they was late

There was no hotel pick up despite this being included in our booking and our pick up time was 5.35am, we had booked for 10.10am. When we queried this we were just sent a copy of terms and conditions that we had not received previously stating that any changes could be made to the booking. More than half of the people booked on our coach never turned up, probably due to the early start. Everyone we spoke to had the same issue. Driver and guide were excellent, but felt misled with booking
